Ashlee Beals is a musician and writer living in New Orleans. A graduate of UC Berkeley, she released her first EP Born Today in 2021, and her debut album Queen of Wishful Thinking in 2025.
Ashlee won the AWP Intro Journals Award for her essay The Sky is a Liar Being Blue in 2021, and is pursuing her MFA in creative nonfiction at the University of New Orleans. A second album is also in the works!
